We were initially referred to XLCON in 2006 via a relationship with Allscripts, as a preferred vendor locally. We started in Jan 2007 with 6 surgeons in 5 locations. Within a few months we brought billing back in and XLCON had already established our Small Business Server, emails, Office, Outlook, and other applications supporting the connectivity to the Central Business Office.
As we evolved to 17 surgeons, to include new established practices with their own domains, hardware, software and networks, XLCON flawlessly transitioned the on-boarding practices as well as a few practices that also off-boarded. We added EHR to our Allscripts applications in 2010, as well as a patient portal and a multi-directional fax maker. They provide redundant 24/7 backup and monitoring, are always available and responsive including remote support in the home for partners.
XLCON was pivotal in our success to win an appeal with CMS for a Meaningful Use audit, with impeccably documented Security Risk Analysis (SRA, Measure #15) thereby protecting over $257,400 of “Incentive” funds that were issued to us. They have continued to provide Compliance in terms of SRA, HIPAA and secure emails.
We have benefitted from their astute guidance in vendor negotiations for both costs and systems integrity. At the end of 2013 we again decided to outsource our billing and they were instrumental in this being seamless, but of more importance they were absolutely exceptional in the quick return of our billing back to our in house servers.

We had been served by a one-person IT company for 15 years. Over time, our network became a patchwork of old equipment, outdated wiring, and slow switches. None of our key hardware components were redundant, meaning a failure in any one of them could leave us unable to conduct business. Our data was backed up by copying it to a USB drive and taking it off site every few weeks. And we were at the mercy of one person’s schedule when we needed on-site support. Then they designed a new network that would take three very old servers and replace them with a single virtualized server with full redundancy on all key components. Finally, they implemented a backup solution that automatically takes incremental backups every two hours and sends our data to XLCON’s data center once a day. Change is good. We are now nine months into our first year of service with XLCON.

Once the support services are identified, XLCON will recommend specific solutions to monitor our servers and ensure our firewall is properly backed. In the event of an emergency or disaster, XLCON utilizes an off-site backup system. We feel very confident that our servers are protected from viruses, malware and spyware. We never expected a crisis to occur, but it did. In 2007, we had a fire at the school and it completely destroyed our district building. We were extremely grateful that we had XLCON as a partner. During this time, they were able to recover our district files and student curriculum, and it was done in the most efficient and timely manner. We will continue this partnership for years to come.
